RECORD BREAKING PARTICIPATION AND ATTENDANCE AT THE 11th BOLLYWOOD FESTIVAL

The 11th Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival concluded in celebratory fashion, with artists and the audience dancing together on the stage of the historic Dora Stratou Theatre. The festival hosted performers and competitors from 21 countries and kicked off on Friday morning, 27 June 2025, with dance workshops, followed by a lively Bollywood Welcome Party at En Aithria Acropolis in Monastiraki.

The three-day workshops were filled with excitement as the instructors gave their all through inspiring choreographies, and participants from around the world expressed their passion enthusiastically for dance and appreciation for the teachers' professionalism.

During the two Mega Shows (Saturday and Sunday), spectators enjoyed breathtaking performances by internationally acclaimed dancers and choreographers from around the globe, as well as the high-level entries in the 10th International Bollywood Dance Competition.

The spotlight was stolen by the 1st Bollywood Dance Academy Greece with the unique choreographies of its founder and artistic director, Anna Dimitratou, and Indian creative manager, choreographer and dancer, Sumon Rudra. Also dazzling the audience with their vibrant energy and flawless performances were Sujata Mohapatra, Karan Pangali, Iswarya Jayakumar, Jigar Soni, Hardy Singh, Kinga Malec, Sonia Tharani, Mélodie Toussaint, Krystal Chow, and Jill Otter.

Groups from Greece and abroad also received enthusiastic applause, proving that dance never ends — it constantly evolves with new trends and techniques. Notable appearances included Guru Keerti from India, KSPARK Entertainments from the UK, Royalusion from Singapore, IndraDance Academy from Romania, Moksha Arts from the USA, A Tribe Called Nritya from France, Hamazkayin Nairi Dance Group with Armenian dances, Mohini Dance Group from Poland, SSGD Europe, Pure Bhangra, Saffron HK, and many more. A standout performance also came from the P. Zisis Ethnomusicological Foundation, who thrilled the audience with beloved Greek traditional and folk dances.

The Festival was honored by the presence of the Ambassador of India to Athens, Mr. Rudrendra Tandon, who addressed a warm greeting, as well as Ms. Lamprini Raikou, representative of the International Dance Council, Ms. Eleni Zontirou, President of the Organization of Culture, Sports, and Youth of the City of Athens, Dr. Dimitrios Vassiliadis, President of the Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture and Development, musician and writer Mr. Konstantinos Kalaitzis, President of the Hellenic-Eurasian Association, Mr. Xenophon Lambrakis, Mr. Syed Mohammad Jamil of the East Asian Cultural & Welfare Society Greece, and many other distinguished guests.

A special highlight was the presence of well-known Greek TV broadcast ANT1 correspondent Mr. Nikolas Vafeiadis, who opened Saturday's show and honored the Festival with a wonderful speech.

Also present at the Festival were the “Agios Alexandros” Girls' Shelter of Palaio Faliro and the animal shelter “An Ethical Farm.”
